Every day, seagoing vessels transport goods from port to port. The shipping industry connects continents and contributes immensly to our properity. This means that much is happening and at stake from day to day. It is occassionally breaking news, often it is common practice and sometimes we create our own news about what is going on in the Dutch shipping industry.
The Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KVNR) represents Netherlands-based shipowners. It works with the principle of a collective representation of interests. Our opinions are formed in consultation with our members; often relating to national and international politics. Our most important priorities at this moment are listed below.
The Dutch shipping sector consists of globally-operating shipping companies. From container transport to heavy lift projects, or offshore wind farm construction to ocean towage – Dutch shipowners offer a huge range of maritime services. Some shipowners sail on regular fixed routes, while others are versatile tramp traders picking up contracts as they go.
Representing Dutch shipowners every step of the way; the KVNR is an organisation that puts the interests and ambitions of its members first. As such, it is the general meeting of members that carries the most weight. The KVNR’s board is composed of shipowners from all market segments. In its day-to-day tasks of policy implementation, the KVNR office cooperates with national and international organisations. See the menu below for more details.
Please contact the KVNR for all your questions about membership, the Dutch shipping industry or other maritime-related matters.
